Microwave Subsurface Imaging

With its uniquely high resolution, speed, and user-friendliness, the microwave subsurface imager developed by Newport Sensors, Inc. enables, for the first time, convenient, real-time and reliable inspection of small defects and damage in fiber reinforced polymer composite and concrete structures. The standalone, cordless, lightweight, handheld scanner houses microwave array antennas and imaging software to detect invisible subsurface defects and damage including air voids and delaminations. The results are display by a red/green light on the scanner. The scanner can also be wirelessly connected to a PC to display and record the subsurface image in real time.
